Nate Moore
Coach Nate Moore — Assistant Coach, Bear Cave Wrestling
Background
Nathan Moore is an assistant coach at Bear Cave Wrestling Club. A three-time Washington state champion, Nathan went on to compete for four seasons at the University of Northern Colorado, where he was a consistent starter in the lineup. In 2021, he represented Team USA at the world championships in the Greco-Roman U23 division and became a top-ranked senior-level Greco athlete.
Nathan has been coaching with Bear Cave for over a year and has also coached on international trips with Team USA and various state teams. Outside the wrestling room, he works as a personal trainer and nutrition coach and holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in exercise science.
Coaching Philosophy
Nathan takes a science-based approach to athlete development—focusing on technical precision, physical preparation, and mental growth. His background in psychology, exercise science, and personal training allows him to connect deeply with athletes and guide their progress in a structured, individualized way. He emphasizes resilience, discipline, and the continual pursuit of skill mastery. Nathan’s ultimate goal as a coach is to use the framework of wrestling to help athletes become not only successful competitors but also strong, thoughtful young men and women who make a positive impact beyond the sport.
Interests
Outside of wrestling, Nathan is passionate about strength and conditioning, sports psychology, and exploring how the mind influences performance. He also has trained in mixed martial arts and jiu-jitsu and enjoys learning from a wide range of combat sports disciplines. His open-minded and analytical approach helps him adapt his coaching to match each athlete’s unique strengths and needs.
